Harvey Streich Inducted Into Maricopa Bar Hall of Fame

PHOENIX, ARIZ. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady is pleased to announce that Harvey E. Streich, one of the founding partners of the Streich Lang law firm, has been selected for induction into the Maricopa County Bar Hall of Fame. He will be honored along with 20 lawyers and judges at the Maricopa Bar Association's Annual Meeting & Hall of Fame Luncheon on October 28.

Harvey Streich was one of the founding partners of Streich Lang which merged with Quarles & Brady in October 2000. He was a visionary chairman and managing partner who was one of the first to have a recruiting administrator and interview and recruit law students nationally. By nurturing relationships with placement directors and law school deans from coast to coast, Streich positioned a relatively small firm in Phoenix as a player in the national recruiting arena, even among top tier schools such as Harvard and Georgetown. Streich Lang became one of the largest law firms in Arizona, with business, corporate, bankruptcy, real estate and litigation practices that spanned the Southwest and beyond. In 2000, Streich Lang merged with Quarles & Brady LLP in 2000 to form a truly national law firm.

An astute businessman, Streich served on the Council for Corporate Growth and on the Arizona Association for Economic Development, which was instrumental in bringing clean industry and other corporate businesses to Arizona. In 1982, ASU's W.P. Carey School of Business named Streich to its Hall of Fame in Accountancy. In his later years, Harvey devoted himself to many worthwhile charitable causes, including chairing the United Way. He passed away on July 14, 2009.

Inductees into the Hall of Fame must have played a prominent role and have had an impact on the history and development of the County’s bar and legal profession, made significant contributions to the law or the administration of justice and have demonstrated significant leadership, advocacy and accomplishments in their work.
