Quarles & Brady Announces New Partners
MILWAUKEE, WIS. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady is pleased to announce that the following attorneys have been elected to partnership by the Firm's Executive Committee:
Chicago:
Ellen M. Girard is a member of the Firm's Labor and Employment group, with an emphasis on employment-related litigation and proactive management, and counseling of employee-related matters. She has substantial experience successfully litigating employment discrimination and harassment lawsuits from start to finish in federal and state courts, including through appeal. In 2007, Ellen was named one of “40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch” by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company. She received her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and her undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University.
Amy M. Gulinson is a member of the Firm's Corporate Services group. She focuses her practice in the areas of corporate and real estate finance transactions, lending and credit transactions, restructurings and workout transactions, project finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. She was named an Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of Securities & Corporate Finance. She is the current vice president and a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Coalition of Women in Law Firms. Amy received her law degree from St. Louis University School of Law in 2000 and her undergraduate degree from Truman State University in 1997.
Madison:
Emily M. Feinstein is a member of the Firm's Commercial Litigation group. She focuses her practice on litigation and representing health care providers. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2001 and her undergraduate degree from University of Illinois in 1998.
Margaret Utterback is a member of the Firm's Corporate Services group. She practices in the areas of commercial finance, commercial law, and mergers and acquisitions. She represents clients in corporate transactions including commercial and public finance transactions, as well as acquisitions and divestitures. She was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of Business/Corporate. Maggie received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2001 and her undergraduate degree, with merit, from the United States Naval Academy in 1987.
Milwaukee:
Catherine A. Faught is a member of the Firm's Product Liability group, focusing her practice in the areas of product liability, toxic tort and personal injury defense. She represents manufacturers and companies in litigation involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, chemical exposure, motorcycles and machinery. Catherine was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of Personal Injury Defense: Products. She received her law degree, cum laude, from University of Wisconsin Law School in 2001 and her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1996.
Lars E. Gulbrandsen is a member of the Firm's Product Liability Law group. He focuses his practice on defending various product liability claims related to machines and vehicles. Lars received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2001 and his undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College in 1996.
Charles L. Leeck is a member of the Firm's Intellectual Property group. Dr. Leeck's practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the biochemical, pharmaceutical and chemical arts in the U.S. and abroad, counseling and preparing opinions in patent matters, and performing intellectual property evaluations, audits and due diligence reviews. Chuck received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2000, his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1995, and his undergraduate degree from Wartburg College in 1990.
Ryan P. Morrison is a member of the Firm's Corporate Services group. He focuses his practice in the areas of corporate finance, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. He represents business organizations in connection with corporate governance, corporate securities, corporate finance and merger and acquisition matters. Ryan received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2001 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse in 1997.
Peter A. Tomasi is a member of the Firm's Environmental group. He focuses his practice in the areas of environmental permitting and environmental litigation. Peter has further experience with general civil, commercial, and intellectual property litigation. He was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyers Rising Star and listed in the Best Lawyers in America for 2010 in the area of Environmental Law. Peter received his law degree, cum laude, and M.E.M. from Duke University in 2001 and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Chicago in 1997.
Naples:
Ken H. Haney is a member of the Firm's Product Liability group. He principally focuses his practice on the defense of product liability claims, including personal injury, for transportation companies and manufacturers, construction equipment manufacturers and industrial machine manufacturers. Ken also has extensive experience in the areas of construction law and real estate litigation. His practice extends throughout the State of Florida and he has a significant number of matters venued in Tampa and in South Florida. Ken has been named a Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of Personal Injury Defense. Ken received his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1999 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 1996.
Phoenix:
Heather L. Buchta is a member of the Firm's Intellectual Property group, as well as the Technology Law team. She focuses her practice on software, cloud-computing, and ecommerce transactions as well as copyright and trademark prosecution. She regularly drafts and negotiates licensing agreements, outsourcing arrangements, website development and hosting agreements, as well as terms of use and privacy policies. She also works with clients to select, protect and enforce brand names and trademarks, managing both U.S. and international trademark portfolios. Heather received her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2001 and her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Kansas State University in 1998.
Nicole Maroulakos Goodwin is a member of the Firm's Commercial Litigation group, focusing on complex litigation involving publicly-traded companies and financial institutions. She has extensive experience handling contract, antitrust, healthcare and intellectual property litigation in federal and state courts, and private arbitration. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2001 and her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary in 1998.
Brian A. Howie is a member of the Firm's Commercial Litigation group. He practices in the area of commercial, antitrust and appellate litigation. Brian has represented clients in the alcoholic beverage, direct sales, oil & gas, and financial services industries. He has trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts nationwide. Brian received his law degree, summa cum laude, from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1996 and his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Middlebury College in 1993.
Lori L. Winkelman is a member of the Firm's Bankruptcy group. She has experience representing debtors and creditors in all facets of Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy matters, and commercial lenders in bankruptcy and in bankruptcy litigation. Lori received her law degree from Arizona State University College of Law in 2001, graduated from Denver Paralegal Institute in 1992, and earned her undergraduate degree from South Dakota State University in 1990.
Tucson:
Troy M. Hoch is a member of the Firm's Real Estate group. He focuses his practice in the areas of commercial construction transactions, commercial lending, real estate lending, general real estate and business transactions, and Indian law. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego and his law degree, cum laude, from Gonzaga University School of Law.
Kasey C. Nye practices in the Firm's Commercial Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights group representing business and non-profit entities as creditors and debtors throughout the United States. Kasey has experience with many industries including retail, outsourced manufacturing services, non-profit reorganizations, equipment leasing, financial institutions and real estate development. He served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Eileen W. Hollowell, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Arizona. Kasey received his law degree from University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2000 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Buffalo in 1996 where he became a Phi Beta Kappa.
