Quarles & Brady Announces New Partners
MILWAUKEE, WI – Quarles & Brady LLP is pleased to announce that the following attorneys have been elected to partnership by the firm's Executive Committee:
Chicago: Meridith G. Cannon is a member of the Corporate Services Group. She focuses her practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, business planning and formation, commercial contract preparation and negotiation and other general corporate matters. She earned her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
Thomas McCarthy practices in the Real Estate and Land Use group. His practice focuses on representing corporate clients, financial institutions, and real estate developers concerning the financing, leasing, acquisition, disposition, and development of commercial, industrial, mixed-use, and residential properties. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his B.S. in economics from the University of Wisconsin. He is a member of the bar and licensed to practice in both the State of Illinois and the State of Wisconsin.
Madison: Josephine Benkers practices in the areas of intellectual property litigation and commercial litigation, including patent infringement, copyright and trade secrets disputes. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School and her bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Sara Vinarov is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Practice. She possesses extensive experience working with clients to procure and manage worldwide patent portfolios in a variety of life science (biotechnology and biochemical) areas. She earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School, her bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Trinity University and her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame.
Milwaukee:
Sarah Brindley focuses her practice on trademark law, copyright law, and intellectual property licensing. Her experience includes registering and enforcing trademarks and copyrights and assisting clients with licensing, sponsorship, advertising, and consumer promotions issues. She earned her law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law and her bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona.
Amy Ciepluch practices in the employee benefits and executive compensation areas where she provides ongoing counseling on all benefit plan types for profit and not-for-profit entities. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School and her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Katie Maloney Perhach practices in the Commercial Litigation group. Her practice focuses on litigation disputes involving lender liability, condominium associations, homeowners and developers, eminent domain, land use, property rights and easements, bankruptcy and health care. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School and her bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, from Marquette University.
Phoenix:
Hilary Barnes focuses her practice on secured creditors' rights and remedies in state and federal court. Her litigation experience includes prosecution and defense of various adversary proceedings and contested matters in bankruptcy court, including stay relief, nondischarge actions, exemption and claim objections. Outside the bankruptcy context, she participates in state court receiverships and foreclosure proceedings to protect her clients' interests. She earned her law degree from Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and her bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago. She is currently the president-elect for YWCA Maricopa County and has served on the YWCA's board of directors since 2005.
Michelle De Blasi practices in the area of environmental and natural resources law. She advises clients on federal and state water quality issues, NEPA, Endangered Species Act, CERCLA, RCRA, natural resource damage issues, Oil Pollution Act, Clean Air Act, FOIA, underground storage tank issues, and other matters. She earned her law degree from the University of Washington School of Law and her bachelor's degree from Arizona State University.
Jennifer Eichholz practices in the areas of corporate services, mergers and acquisitions and securities law. Her experience includes drafting and negotiating principal transaction and disclosure documents in connection with mergers and acquisitions, stock and bond issuances and venture capital transactions, representing issuers in underwritten private and public offerings of securities, including initial, secondary and follow-on offerings, and advising clients regarding corporate governance and securities law issues including annual reporting obligations. She earned her law degree from Columbia Law School and received her Honors Bachelor's Degree, summa cum laude, from Marquette University.
Carrie Francis represents employers in a wide range of employment matters, including hiring, discipline, termination, discrimination, and harassment and related litigation. She earned her law degree from Arizona State University College of Law and received a bachelor's and a master's degree in business from Arizona State University.
Eric Johnson practices in the area of labor and employment law, with emphasis on employment law counseling and litigation in Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico state and federal courts. He earned his law degree from Indiana University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Arizona.
Edward Salanga is a commercial and construction litigator who represents clients in federal and state court, in arbitration, in mediation and in administrative proceedings. His experience includes representing clients in contract and fraud cases, construction defect cases, property disputes, mechanics lien claims, partnership disputes, antitrust claims, product liability claims and distributor disputes. He earned his law degree from Arizona State University College of Law and his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University.
Nicole France Stanton practices in the area of commercial litigation, primarily in the area of professional malpractice defense. She has represented accountants, attorneys, insurance brokers, actuaries, bankers and other professionals in business litigation in both federal and state courts. A member of Valley Leadership Class XXIX, Ms. Stanton graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Utah.
Dawn Valdivia practices in the area of labor and employment law where she advises clients regarding issues of workplace discrimination, employee discipline and termination, employer policies, and compliance with state and federal labor and employment laws. She has extensive experience representing clients before the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and in complex litigation matters. She also has experience representing employers during union organizing campaigns, in collective bargaining, and in labor arbitrations. She earned her law degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and her bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Arizona State University.
Tucson:
Jeremy Lite focuses his practice on Arizona water law, environmental law, and real property litigation, with am emphasis on renewable energy development, environmental issues on Tribal land, airport fueling operations and title disputes. He graduated summa cum laude from University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
Gavin Milczarek-Desai focuses his practice on national and international patent prosecution law with an emphasis on biotechnology law. He earned his law degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, his bachelor's degree from Bard College and his Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona.
