Quarles & Brady Attorney Earns LEED Certification
PHOENIX, AZ ─ The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP is pleased to announce that Katea Ravega, an attorney with the firm's Environmental Practice, has become one of a small number of attorneys in the country to have become a LEED-certified accredited professional.
An active member of the community, Ravega serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Green Chamber of Commerce, Phoenix chapter. She is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Arizona chapter.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system is a nationally-recognized third-party rating system for the design, construction and operation of energy-efficient, low-environmental impact buildings. A growing number of cities and states now require LEED components on new commercial projects.
“It is beneficial for companies working on LEED projects to use an attorney who understands the rating system, requirements and contract issues,” said Ravega. “While many architects, engineers and contractors are LEED-certified, only a handful of attorneys have earned this credential.”
Ravega graduated
magna cum laude with a B.A. degree from Valparaiso University in 1999 and received her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2006. She was admitted to the Arizona State Bar and joined Quarles & Brady later that year.
