Quarles & Brady Attorney Named Attorney of the Month

NAPLES, FL – The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP is pleased to announce that Eric Veenstra was named attorney of the month for August 2009 by the Collier County Bar Association for his pro bono work through the Collier Lawyers Care Pro Bono Program.

With Veenstra's assistance, the Collier Lawyer's Care program handled a record number of cases in May and June of 2009. Veenstra is recognized for providing high quality legal assistance to a substantial number of clients on housing law and other matters. His participation was particularly timely, as the downturn in the local economy resulted in an increased demand for legal services to the poor and underserved in Collier County.

"Eric seamlessly fit in with our staff and did a tremendous job on this unique project, using his skill and compassion to provide hope and help for those in need," said Jeffrey A. Ahren, Esq., Legal Aid Pro Bono Coordinator and Development Officer.

Veenstra is a member of the Real Estate Group and focuses his practice in the area of real property including real estate finance, development, acquisition and community association law. He earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University.

The attorneys Quarles & Brady's Naples office developed a unique, innovative and ground-breaking method to deliver pro bono services to low income clients in Collier County in conjunction with Legal Aid. Specifically, Veenstra was assigned to Legal Aid's Naples office one full day per week for a three-month period – solely to perform pro bono work through the Collier Lawyers Care Pro Bono Program administered through Legal Aid Service of Collier County.
