Quarles & Brady Continues Florida Expansion
Adds Three Attorneys In Tampa
TAMPA, FLA. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP is pleased to announce that attorneys S. Douglas Knox, Cheryl Smith Lucente and Lauren G. Raines have joined the Firm’s Tampa office. Knox and Raines join as associates in the Commercial Litigation practice; Lucente joins as an associate in the Corporate Services Group.
“We are excited to continue building our team in the Tampa Bay region,” said Kimberly Johnson, Managing Partner of Quarles & Brady’s Tampa office. “They each bring unique skills that will benefit our clients.”
The three associates are the latest additions to the Tampa office, which opened on April 1, 2010. They join six partners with experience in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, franchising, foreclosure and workout litigation, e-discovery, ERISA litigation, admiralty, products liability, insurance coverage litigation, non-compete and trade secrets litigation, and general commercial litigation. As the office grows, the Firm expects to expand practice areas and deliver a full range of legal services through both the Tampa and Naples offices.

S. Douglas Knox: Mr. Knox is an experienced commercial litigator whose practice involves a wide range of disputes spanning several industries including banking, franchise, insurance, real estate and construction. Mr. Knox earned his law degree,
magna cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree,
with high honors, from the University of Florida.
Cheryl Smith Lucente: Ms. Lucente focuses her practice on franchise and business law. She assists both start-up and established franchisors on a wide range of franchise law matters, such as regulatory compliance, the preparation of disclosure documents, structuring and documenting new franchise and other distribution programs, and various other related corporate and business matters. Ms. Lucente earned her law degree,
magna cum laude, from the Stetson University College of Law,
with honors, her MBA from Stetson University and her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.
Lauren Goldberg Raines: Ms. Raines practices in the areas of commercial litigation and real property. She has substantial experience in foreclosures, loan workouts, lien priority contests, receiverships, commercial lending, complex real estate transactions and commercial transactions. Ms. Raines received her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, her LL.M. from New York University School of Law and her B.A.,
with honors, from the University of Florida.
