Map
Tampa is one of Florida's most vibrant cities. The city has a large downtown area, which includes the exciting
Channelside and
Ybor entertainment districts. If you'd like to truly capture a taste of all that Tampa has to offer, stroll the
Riverwalk, unwind at one of the many diverse selections of restaurants, or enjoy one of many famous attractions, such as the
Florida Aquarium,
Busch Gardens, and
Lowry Park Zoo.
Arts & Entertainment
Tampa's cultural arts celebrate its diverse community. Theater, orchestra, museums, and galleries provide an array of opportunities to showcase inspiring performances, and enriching youth programs reflected in their heritage and the fabric of their community. Many of Tampa's cultural arts centers are located downtown along the Hillsborough River.
The David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts,
Tampa Museum of Art,
Henry B. Plant Museum, and
Tampa Bay History Center provide ideal venues to view the arts and cultural exhibits. The Glazer Children's Museum is Tampa's newest attraction and offers engaging exhibits and learning environments for families.
Outdoors and Sports
The nearby
beach communities boast an average of 361 sunny days per year. The spectacular Gulf Coast extends from St. Pete Beach to Johns Pass and northward to Indian Rocks Beach and includes 10 barrier islands connected by a stretch of road called Gulf Boulevard. If you love the outdoors and enjoy a good adventure, grab a canoe or charter a boat and check out the costal wetlands. You'll have an opportunity to view rare plants, spectacular flowers, birds and exotic wildlife.
If swinging at a golf ball is more your style, check out the numerous award winning
courses in Tampa. For those sports fanatics, Tampa's NFL team, the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa's MLB team, the
Tampa Bay Rays, or Tampa's NHL team,
Tampa Bay Lighting will provide some competitive action and plenty of good times. Central Florida also hosts more than a dozen professional baseball teams for Spring Training, including the New York Yankees who play at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.
One of Tampa's best known traditions occurs in late January when pirates invade the city to the delight of hundreds of thousands of spectators who line the streets for parades and revelry. The Gasparilla Pirate Festival is a annual celebration of the legend of José Gaspar, a fearsome buccaneer who plundered the west coast of Florida during the 18th century.
Neighborhoods
Tampa is divided into more than a dozen neighborhoods, many of which were towns and unincorporated communities annexed into the growing city. These neighborhoods reflect Tampa's rich heritage and include
Ybor City, Sulpher Springs and Hyde Park.. Ybor City is a National Historic Landmark District founded in the 1880's by cigar manufacturers.. Located within a few miles of Ybor City, Sulpher Springs was the site of a well known resort and tourist attraction in the roaring twenties.
Hyde Park is primarily a residential community to the west of the downtown area and is home to Bayshore Boulevard, which has the world's longest continuous sidewalk and is a favorite of local joggers, skaters and bikers who can enjoy its scenic views of upper Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay's vibrant community truly makes this city a hot spot bursting with flavor and diversity. For more information about this great city, click on

Quarles & Brady’s Tampa office officially opened in April 2010. From our location in the heart of downtown Tampa, we offer our clients expanded services, intensive attention to their present and emerging needs, and, as always, trustworthy counsel. In concert with our Naples office, the Tampa office attorneys offer comprehensive representation to Florida’s largest businesses as well as the entire network of Quarles clientele across the country and around the world.
The attorneys establishing the latest new office in the Quarles family are veterans who bring with them highly sought-after experience in practice areas such as bankruptcy and creditors rights, franchising and distribution, foreclosure and workout litigation, e-discovery, ERISA litigation, real estate, admiralty expertise, products liability, insurance coverage litigation, noncompete and trade secret litigation, and general commercial litigation.
For additional insight into Quarles & Brady’s new Tampa office, please see the following article: “Open for Law,” Gulf Coast Business Review, October 1, 2010.
Our Commitment to the Community
Quarles & Brady takes its civic responsibility seriously, is committed to being a good community partner, and encourages its attorneys and staff to get involved. We are dedicated to giving back to Tampa and its outlying communities. The Tampa office kicked off its volunteer initiatives in 2010 with a two-week school supply drive to benefit the Hillsborough County Education Foundation. The office has since participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk and the Bring Items of Necessity (“B.I.N.”) project, and organized an “adopt-a-child” program during the 2010 holiday season. Tampa attorneys and staff look forward to contributing to various local efforts in 2011.
Our Workplace
At Quarles & Brady, we take great pride in our workplace. Our culture as a firm is built upon a set of core values,
a clear vision, and a comprehensive strategic plan that form a solid foundation on which our law firm bases key decisions. Our personnel, both attorneys and staff, are regarded as our greatest assets, and they are empowered, enriched and challenged in a democratic work environment where education and change are valued and embraced. In addition, we have a culture that encourages open communication and respect among colleagues, which fosters a great deal of pride within our organization.
In the photo above, Quarles & Brady Chairman John W. Daniels, Jr., former Managing Partner Kim Johnson, Partner Dana Grutchfield and Partner Lanse Scriven join Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn at a welcome reception in the Tampa office.
