Topic: Diversity Events - Milwaukee and Phoenix (June 2, 2008)

(Cory Nettles, John Daniels, George Marek, and Karen Perzan at the Diversity Dinner.)

Annual Midwest Diversity Dinner / Milwaukee: The event was well organized.  Host George (Marek) and Jeff have a beautiful house and it was so nice of them to hold the event there.  I met many people with diverse backgrounds; some are even from the Chicago or Madison office.  The food was exquisite and the conversation was informal and interesting.  I enjoyed it a lot.

Diversity Bowling Event / Phoenix:

(Raphael Ramos, Booker Coleman, Derek Gilliam, Celestina Owusu-Sanders at Diversity Event in Milwaukee.)

Bowling Night was a blast!  Although some of us had never bowled before, we quickly picked up the basics and had a great time.  We even put up competitive numbers on the second game (it helps if you have a rock star like Brenda Maloney on your team!).  The pizza and red velvet cake at La Grande Orange were to die for.  Kudos to Rhea (Hernandez) for organizing a great event.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Diversity Bowling Event! It was a great opportunity to meet attorneys from very different backgrounds and get to know everyone a little better. My bowling team started out very strong thanks to Dawn Valdivia and Brian Booker, but alas we all fell apart in the second game... La Grande Orange Pizzeria was a perfect finish to a fun night of bowling. Overall, I thought it was a very fun event that should certainly be repeated in the future!
