At Quarles & Brady, we are equally dedicated to every kind of client—not just the industry and business leaders of today, but those among us challenged by injustice and hardship. We are proud to serve our communities and neighbors through extensive and wide-ranging pro bono efforts, charitable contributions, and our nationwide Quarles Cares program.
The firm is a signatory to the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge®, administered by the Pro Bono Institute’s Law Firm Pro Bono Project, which challenges us to contribute, at a minimum, an amount of time equal to three percent of the firm’s total billable hours, or 60 hours per attorney, to pro bono work. Quarles & Brady also offers hour-for-hour credit to our attorneys for their pro bono service to indigent persons.
Here are just a few details of our pro bono work:
- In our 2013 fiscal year, Quarles & Brady lawyers recorded 19,000 pro bono hours—the equivalent of approximately 9 full-time lawyers, devoting the majority of those hours to indigent persons or organizations that serve indigent persons.
- We opened 211 new pro bono files in 2013, and, including our clinic work, served approximately 525 individuals and 80 organizations.
- In the last several years, Quarles & Brady lawyers have won numerous awards and recognition for their pro bono work.
