Quarles & Brady's Coyne Named "Wisconsin Health Law Attorney of the Year"
 

MADISON, WIS. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Sarah E. Coyne, a partner in the Firm’s Madison office and chair of the Firm’s Health Law Group, has been named “Wisconsin Health Law Attorney of the Year” by the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Health Law Section.

The “Wisconsin Health Law Attorney of the Year” award is presented annually to an attorney who has contributed to the preservation and enhancement of the health and life of the people of Wisconsin.

Ms. Coyne represents and advises health care providers (entities and individuals) and health plans on a variety of issues, including regulatory compliance and patient care issues. She holds several board memberships with health care organizations, including the executive committee for HIPAA Collaborative of Wisconsin, executive committee of the Perinatal Foundation and the board of directors for the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care. She co-authors the health law chapter of the Annual Survey of Wisconsin Law and authors many updates for her clients on legal developments in the health law arena. Ms. Coyne also regularly presents regionally and nationally on many issues. She received her J.D., cum laude, O.T.R., with honors, and B.S., with honors, from the University of Wisconsin.

The award will be presented to Ms. Coyne at the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Member Recognition and Networking Celebration on June 9, 2011 at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells.

The State Bar of Wisconsin is the mandatory professional association, created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, for attorneys who hold a Wisconsin law license. With more than 23,000 members, the State Bar aids the courts in improving the administration of justice, provides continuing legal education for its members to help them maintain their expertise, and assists Wisconsin lawyers in carrying out community service initiatives to educate the public about the legal system and the value of lawyers.

The Health Law Section is a networking opportunity for lawyers who share a common interest in health law. Section membership includes access to newsletters, email lists to facilitate information sharing, and other resources.
