David Buffum comes to Quarles & Brady with more than 19 years of legal administration and legal operations management experience. Most recently, he served as the Director of Administration and Legal Support for an international AmLaw 100 firm. Prior to this, he was the Director of Operations for an international AmLaw 200 firm. David has been recognized for his strengths in leadership, motivation and change management. He has expertise in construction project management, lease negotiations, and all aspects of facilities operations.
In his role as Phoenix Office Administrator, David is responsible for all operations for the 190-person Phoenix office. This includes the office's facilities, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and operations departments. He oversees the office's corporate social responsibility program, Quarles Cares, the Capitol School program and is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Council.
In his role as Practice Group Administrator, David is responsible for administration for the Bankruptcy, Real Estate and Trust and Estates Groups as well as the Financial Services Industry Team. His responsibilities include attorney evaluations, attorney hiring, budgeting, business meeting planning, financial analysis, financial reporting, and training. He is also a member of the firm's paralegal committee and co-leads the evaluation process.David received his Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Riverside with a Business Administration Major and a Psychology Minor. He also earned a Paralegal Certificate and an Intellectual Property Specialty Certificate from Santa Clara University School of Law, Institute of Paralegal Education. David is active in the Association of Legal Administrators.
