Professional Experience
Edward Salanga practices in the areas of construction and real estate litigation, commercial litigation, product liability and direct sales, representing clients in state and federal court, arbitrations, mediations and administrative proceedings. His experience includes contract disputes, construction defect disputes, property disputes, mechanics liens, stop notices and bonding issues. His recent experience includes:
- Representing a major residential property developer in disputes against a civil engineering firm, a water company and homeowners’ associations arising out of various large-scale residential developments in both Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.
- Representing one of the largest contractors in the nation in construction and contracting-related matters in Arizona.
- Obtaining summary judgment and a Court of Appeals memorandum decision affirming the Superior Court’s summary judgment order on behalf of a resort in a multimillion dollar Arizona Antitrust Act lawsuit.
- Representing an international insurance broker in various proceedings arising out of the collapse of a multimillion dollar construction project.
- Representing the owner in disputes against an architecture firm and a general contractor arising out of the construction of charter schools.
- Representing a major commercial property developer/owner against a performance bond surety/insurance company in a series of lawsuits arising from the statewide default of an Arizona-based general contractor.
- Defending a homebuilder against homeowner lawsuits alleging construction defects and mold-related damages.
- Defending a roofing contractor in Registrar of Contractors proceedings initiated by various homeowners.
- Defending the owner of a grocery store chain in mechanics’ lien and unjust enrichment lawsuits brought by several contractors.
- Defending a manufacturer of water treatment systems in product liability lawsuits.
- Defending a property owner in a quiet title lawsuit brought by a neighboring property owner claiming a prescriptive easement.
- Representing direct marketing companies in litigation against former employees and independent distributors.
