Professional Experience
Eric Fuglsang practices primarily in the area of commercial real estate. His practice focuses on commercial leasing, sales and acquisitions, and real estate finance. Mr. Fuglsang has extensive experience in the representation of landlords, institutional owners, asset managers, and investors in all facets of commercial leasing and asset management activities, the representation of sellers and purchasers in connection with the acquisition and disposition of commercial office, industrial and retail properties (both individually and on a portfolio basis) throughout the United States, and the representation of both lenders and borrowers in commercial financing transactions, including modifications and workouts of troubled loans. He also has extensive past experience in municipal and local governmental issues, and land use and zoning. Mr. Fuglsang’s recent experience includes:
  • Representation of a multibillion dollar Fortune 500 financial services entity with respect to its institutional real estate, leasing, licensing and asset management activities for various commercial office, industrial and retail properties in Illinois and other states.

  • Representation of the value enhancement funds arm of a leading international real estate fund manager in connection with its institutional real estate investment, leasing, licensing and asset management activities for various commercial office, industrial and retail properties located throughout the Midwest.

  • Representation of a leading real estate investment and syndication firm with respect to its institutional real estate, leasing, licensing and asset management activities in the Midwest.

  • Representation of Career Education Corporation in connection with the relocation of its corporate headquarters to 231 North Martingale Road, Schaumburg, Illinois.

  • Representation of Baker & McKenzie LLP in connection with its relocation to 300 East Randolph, Chicago, Illinois.

  • Representation of MillerCoors LLC as anchor tenant in connection with the relocation of its headquarters to 250 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois.

  • Served as outside lease and license counsel to the City of Chicago in connection with the preparation and negotiation of lease agreements and related documents to be executed between the City and a number of airlines for the relocation, construction and leasing of their respective air freight cargo facilities as well as the relocation, construction and leasing of a general satellite fueling system, all at Chicago O’Hare International Airport as part of the O’Hare Modernization Program.

  • Representation of Kirkland & Ellis LLP as anchor tenant in connection with its relocation to 300 North LaSalle, Chicago, Illinois.

  • Representation of Veolia Environmental Services North America Corp. in connection with the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Aon Center, 200 East Randolph, Chicago, Illinois.

  • Representation of a national life insurance company in the mortgage financing of office, industrial, retail and multifamily properties in the States of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, Michigan, Oregon and Colorado.

  • Representation of a local county forest preserve district as its land acquisition counsel in connection with its property acquisition and management activities.
