Professional Experience
Jack Cook is the leader of the Firm’s Research Institutions Industry Team and focuses his practice on assisting clients concerning a broad range of intellectual property issues, with emphasis in the areas of patent prosecution, patent licensing, and patent litigation. His practice includes:
- Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, medical device, and medical imaging arts before the US, European, Japanese, Chinese and other Patent Offices.
- Conducting reviews in matters related to patentability, patent (in)validity and patent infringement.
- Conducting clearance/infringement searches.
- Advising on licensing matters including licensing strategies and licensing programs.
- Litigating complex intellectual property matters involving patents, copyrights, trade secrets, trademarks, and trade dress for product packaging.

- Computer systems including software, hardware, system architectures and networks.
- Communications networks and protocols.
- Consumer electronics.
- Medical imaging and instrumentation software and hardware in a variety of modalities, including MRI, X-Ray, CT, PET, SPECT, spectroscopy, optical and others.
