Professional Experience
James L. Burke is a member of the Firm’s Commercial Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Group. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and creditors’ rights. His experience includes:
- Representing secured and unsecured creditors with an emphasis on judicial and nonjudicial foreclosures of real property liens.
- Representing creditors using pre- and post-judgment creditors' remedies to protect and recover their collateral and to collect indebtednesses owed.
- Representing clients in stay relief negotiations and litigation, claims litigation and other bankruptcy matters.
James also specializes in criminal defense work with an emphasis on white collar prosecutions in both federal and state court. James worked for the Department of Justice as a federal prosecutor for twelve years, during which he prosecuted and tried numerous complex cases.
