Professional Experience
Jennifer Dorn has extensive experience representing publicly-traded companies, real estate investment funds, institutional landlords, corporate tenants, asset managers, lending institutions and borrowers in all facets of real estate transactions, including the leasing, management, acquisition, financing and disposition of various commercial, industrial and retail properties throughout the United States. Ms. Dorn specializes in sales and acquisitions of large multi-family projects and other commercial properties and office and retail leasing transactions. Her recent experience includes:
- Ongoing representation of an S&P 500 company in the acquisition, disposition, and 1031 tax-deferred exchange of multi-family apartment complexes and mixed-use projects on the West Coast.
- Ongoing representation of institutional landlords, such as insurance companies and pension funds, in Chicago and other metropolitan leasing markets across the country.
- Ongoing representation of corporate and retail users of office parks and retail shopping centers in the Midwest.
- Representation of an investment company in the acquisition, management and financing of distressed properties.
- Representation of financial institutions in loan sale transactions and workouts.
- Representation of various Chicago hospitals in connection with assemblage of land, property tax exemption, leasing and employee mortgage loan issues.
- Pro bono representation of low-income housing clients in the purchase and finance of residential real estate under the Chicago Housing Authority’s Choose to Own Program.
