Joe Wilson practices in the area of energy and utility law. He also provides advice with respect to complex commercial litigation.

  • Representation of utility client in connection with 90 turbine, 162 megawatt wind energy project including addressing significant challenges based on alleged negative health effects due to low-frequency noise and impacts on property values.

  • Representation of public utility client in general and special purpose rate cases.

  • Representation of utility in connection with prudence review of maintenance projects at nuclear power plant.

  • Assisted community college with development of 10 kilowatt wind turbine on its campus for use in connection with renewable energy curriculum including overcoming objections based on emissions and aesthetics.

  • Representation of public utility client seeking regulatory approval for 50 megawatt biomass cogeneration facility to be sited at operating paper mill.

  • Representation of multiple utility clients with regard to investigation by Wisconsin Public Service Commission into potential excess generating capacity.

  • Representation of brewery client in water rate case before the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.

  • Representation of clients in various commercial disputes regarding contracts, employment issues, intellectual property issues, ERISA, construction issues and purchase/sale of businesses.

  • Preparation of petition for writ of certiorari to U.S. Supreme Court in litigation regarding rights of American Indian mothers under the Indian Child Welfare Act.
