Professional Experience
Joel Austin focuses his practice in the area of intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent prosecution and litigation in the mechanical and electrical arts. He begins each client relationship by acquiring an in-depth understanding of the client’s business, ultimate intellectual property objectives and the technology at hand.
- Counsels clients in the development of intellectual property rights.
- Drafts and prosecutes mechanical and electrical patent applications.
- Supports patent litigation involving mechanical and electrical technologies.
- Experience with appeals to the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Circuit.
- Member of the Intellectual Property Litigation team.
Technical Experience
Mr. Austin’s technical experience includes working as a mechanical engineer with DRS Power and Control Technologies, formerly Eaton/Cutler-Hammer: Navy Controls Division.
