Quarles & Brady's Johnson Elected to FGCU Foundation Board
NAPLES, FLA. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Kimberly Leach Johnson, Esq., managing partner at the Firm’s Naples and Tampa offices, has been elected to serve a four-year term on the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation’s board of directors (“FGCU”).
The FGCU board of directors acts to ensure that the mission and purpose of the Foundation is being fulfilled and that all applicable policies and procedures are being followed. The board may also vote into action initiatives proposed by its special committees.
Ms. Johnson practices in the area of trusts & estates. She has extensive experience representing numerous families in the planning of their estate and handling their affairs after their demise. In addition to her responsibilities as managing partner, she serves as chair of the Naples office trusts & estates group, serves on the Firm’s Executive Committee and chairs the Firm’s Finance Committee. Ms. Johnson was named “Woman Lawyer of the Year” by the Collier County Women’s Bar Association in 2011 and a “Top 50 Women Florida Super Lawyers of 2011” by
Super Lawyers®.
She received her LL.M. from the University of Miami, her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and her B.S. from Anderson College.
The FGCU Foundation is the channel for private gifts to FGCU through annual giving programs, planned gifts (outright gifts such as securities or real estate or deferred gifts through wills and trusts), and capital and other special-purpose campaigns. The Foundation’s principal responsibilities are to raise awareness of the need for private support, to solicit gifts on behalf of FGCU, and exercise fiduciary management of those gifts.
