Two Quarles & Brady Attorneys Named Top Pro Bono Attorneys by AZFLSE

PHOENIX, ARIZ. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Jaclyn Johnson and Rachel Robertson have been named among the Top Pro Bono Attorneys in 2011 by The Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education (“AZFLSE”). They are recognized for their numerous volunteered hours of legal assistance to the underprivileged in Arizona. They received their awards on June 16 at the State Bar of Arizona’s 2011 Convention in Tucson.

Ms. Johnson practices in the Real Estate and Indian Law groups. Her experience includes representing lenders in connection with the transition and disposition of foreclosed property, representing landlords in the leasing and management of commercial real estate, developing and strengthening tribal self-government and self-determination through the preparation of lease agreements for tribal economic development projects, and drafting tribal ordinances and tribal codes in the area of pesticide use. Ms. Johnson earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.

Ms. Robertson practices in the Labor & Employment group. Her experience includes defending employers in litigation against various claims of employee discrimination and retaliation, including lawsuits based upon Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Arizona Civil Rights Act, and other federal and state statutes, as well as representing employers before the EEOC and state civil rights agencies against discrimination and retaliation charges, and drafting comprehensive employment agreements and policies for employers. Ms. Robertson earned her law degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University.

The AZFLSE was created by The State Bar of Arizona in 1978, charging it with the mission of promoting access to justice for all Arizonans. AZFLSE strives to fulfill this mission by preparing Arizona youth for civic responsibility and providing access to justice for Arizonan’s most in need. Through the provision of technical and financial assistance to probation and resource officers, teachers and administrators, private attorneys and judges, and legal service attorneys and advocates, AZFLSE works to level the playing field, so that all in Arizona have knowledge and access to the justice systems.
