Quarles & Brady's Johnson Selected as Attorney of the Month by Volunteer Lawyers Program

PHOENIX, ARIZ. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady announced that Jaclyn R. Johnson, an attorney in the Firm’s Phoenix office, has been selected as the Volunteer Lawyers Program (“VLP”) attorney of the month for October.

Ms. Johnson practices in the Real Estate and Indian Law groups. Her experience includes representing lenders in connection with the transition and disposition of foreclosed property, advising lenders on specific real estate issues prior to foreclosure, developing and strengthening tribal self-government and self-determination through the preparation of lease agreements for tribal economic development projects, and drafting tribal ordinances and tribal codes in the areas of gaming, labor and employment and pesticide use. Ms. Johnson earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.

The attorney of the month award is presented to lawyers distinguished for their outstanding pro bono contributions to the VLP. The honor recognizes situations where they have responded in areas of greatest need, where their efforts have produced positive outcomes, where they have demonstrated ongoing commitment to assisting low income clients, and where their encouragement or leadership has engaged their colleagues in pro bono work.

VLP is co-sponsored by Community Legal Services and the Maricopa County Bar Association. Volunteers include members of private law firms, sole practitioners, corporate attorneys, public attorneys, as well as retired attorneys and former members of the judiciary. Volunteer lawyers provide pro bono counsel or representation in civil law matters ranging from family law and housing issues to consumers’ rights and debt relief concerns.

Quarles & Brady LLP is a full-service law firm with more than 450 attorneys practicing from offices in Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.; Chicago, Ill.; Naples and Tampa, Fla.; and Milwaukee and Madison, Wis.
