Katherine M. Perhach

Biography

Katie Perhach is the chair of the firm’s Financial Institutions Litigation Practice Group and a leader of the firm’s Financial Services Industry Team, where she has earned the trust of some of the firm’s largest and most prestigious financial institution clients.

Katie’s representation of financial institutions extends from litigating commercial loan enforcement matters to defending financial institutions against lender liability claims. She has successfully litigated disputes involving alleged breaches of contract, alleged breaches of fiduciary duties, claims of fraud and unconscionability, claims regarding credit insurance, bankruptcies, receiverships, condemnation and easement issues, lien priority disputes, allegations of invalid notes and mortgages, standing to foreclose issues (including challenges to the use of MERS), violations of the bankruptcy stay and discharge injunctions, and alleged violations of the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and various other state and federal consumer protection statutes. She also regularly advises and represents clients in real estate litigation matters involving eminent domain, land use, and property rights and easements. Her practice extends to state, federal, and bankruptcy court.

She also is an active and awarded pro bono lawyer.
