Professional Experience
Mark J. Horne practices in the area of commercial real estate. Mr. Horne has extensive experience representing property owners and general contractors in the negotiation and preparation of construction related documents; developers of office, industrial and multi-family projects; hotel and restaurant owners; and all types of real estate investors. His recent experience includes:
- Ongoing representation of publicly traded company, completing acquisitions and dispositions of large multi-family apartment and mixed-use projects throughout the United States.
- Ongoing representation of developer of a 70-acre office and industrial park in the North Suburbs of Chicago comprised of six buildings containing approximately 250,000 square feet of offices and 350,000 square feet of industrial space, including all land use matters, construction and permanent financing, construction documents and leasing matters.
- Ongoing representation of nationally recognized restaurant operator in connection with the leasing and construction of five Chicago area restaurants.
- Ongoing representation of one of the Chicago area's largest interior general contractors including all construction contract matters.
- Ongoing representation of owner of 135,000 square foot retail center in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, including all leasing matters.
- Represented large international air-courier service in connection with the acquisition and development of a 400,000 square foot distribution center in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.
- Represented owner/developer of North Michigan Avenue retail site in Chicago. Handled demolition, construction and construction and permanent financing.
- Represented the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art in construction of the new museum. Also negotiated and drafted ground lease and restaurant leases.
- Represented City of Chicago, Department of Aviation in re-leasing of primary retail space at O'Hare Airport.
- Represented publicly traded company in $250,000,000 refinancing of all of its United States facilities.
