Professional Experience
Melody Emmert represents health care providers, including hospitals, physicians, behavioral health providers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, nurses, and other licensed individuals and entities. Her focus is litigation on behalf of health care providers.
- She has represented health care providers in Federal and State Court litigation as well as in administrative proceedings. She has represented providers on cases involving contract disputes, alleged fraud, medical malpractice cases, elder abuse/neglect cases, licensing disputes and reimbursement issues.
- She also advises health care providers on compliance issues, including risk management, HIPAA, False Claims Act, fraud and abuse, reimbursement, Government investigations and voluntary self-disclosure to the Office of Inspector General and she regularly conducts internal investigations related to compliance issues.
