Midwest Cyber Security Alliance Launches, Marks Cyber Security Awareness Month

Rathburn Moderates Insider Threat Presentation

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Jennifer L. Rathburn, a partner in the firm's Data Privacy & Security Team, is moderating a meeting of the Midwest Cyber Security Alliance (MCSA) on the topic of insider threats. The meeting will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015, at Ward4 Milwaukee, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dawn Cappelli, director of Insider Risk Management at Rockwell Automation, will present and host a discussion on creating corporate programs to mitigate insider threats. October also is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.

The meeting will serve as the local launch of the Midwest Cyber Security Alliance, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization comprised of IT professionals, cyber security experts, human resource managers, attorneys, business executives, and government representatives. Rathburn is one of the founding members and serves as secretary on the board of directors.

"This group was born out of a desire to address cyber security with a multidisciplinary approach, with the knowledge that communication and collaboration is the most effective way to combat attacks on business and government," Rathburn said. "MCSA will serve as a meeting place for all cyber security stakeholders, in every industry, to collaborate on current cyber threats, and cyber defenses and strategies."

The MCSA will host its first micro-conference on Thursday, October 15, 2015, in St. Louis. Presenters include Rathburn, Joseph Abrenio with Delta Risk LLC and president of the MCSA, and Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway.
