Clients and Public Officials Gather at Quarles Washington, D.C. Office

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP celebrated the opening of its Washington, D.C. office on Wednesday, September 12 with a reception at the firm's offices at 1700 K St. NW, in the nation's capital.

The firm's expansion into Washington, D.C. was warmly welcomed by its corporate clients and civic leaders, including former Arizona Governor and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Congressman Tim Ryan and Ron Kind. Together, with Quarles partners from all of its office locations and clients from the many industries that the firm serves, including MillerCoors, Covidien, General Electric, Altria and many others, the firm's invitation-only, roof-top reception was a successful gathering of the firm's supporters.

"The reception was a great opportunity to expose our clients and other friends of the firm to our D.C. Office team," said Quarles Chairman John W. Daniels Jr. "It was a great evening, and we're so pleased that so many of our clients and officials could share it with us."

"We're very proud and excited to open this beautiful new office, but what's even more pleasing to us is that this is an office that demanded to be opened," added Washington Office Managing Partner John F. Dienelt. "The firm had already attracted some exceptional local legal talent, and we had long been serving clients with important interests in Washington, so it was only a matter of time before we acquired a local address."

Reception guests were given guided tours of the firm's 8th-floor office suite, where they were invited to sign an "Open House Canvas" depicting an artist's rendering of the building. The signing of a canvas at an open house reception is a tradition that the firm practices each time it opens a new office. For each name on the canvas, the firm donates $10 to a local charity instead of passing out door prizes or other gifts, to symbolize the firm's commitment to a new "home town." On behalf of the Washington, D.C. office, the Capital Area Food Bank will receive a donation through the firm's Quarles Cares program.

The Washington, D.C. office opened for business on March 5, 2012, welcoming the relocation of the firm's Director of Government Affairs Thomas A. Hart Jr. and two national franchise law partners, John F. Dienelt and Scott McIntosh. Since March, the firm has added health law partner Larry P. Cote and litigation associate Jonathan P. Labukas.
