Everett Ward Earns New Board Position with Oak Park Development Corp.

CHICAGO, ILL. – The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Everett S. Ward, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Oak Park Development Corp. (OPDC).

Established in 1974 by area banks and businesses, OPDC is one of the Chicago area’s most successful community economic redevelopment agencies. OPDC acts as a catalyst between developers, property and business owners, and Village staff and officials.

Ward has served as a non-board, at-large member of OPDC’s Commercial Loan Program Committee since 2007. This committee evaluates and, if warranted, approves loans from a consortium of local financial institutions -- with additional support from the Village of Oak Park -- to Oak Park businesses for the purchase, rehabilitation, expansion and/or relocation of businesses in the village.

“I’m excited to continue my work with OPDC,” Ward said. “The organization serves as a valuable conduit between village government and the business community, and as a resident of Oak Park, I look forward to working to further economic development in my community.”

Ward is a member of the firm’s national Real Estate Group. He has practiced real estate law since 1986 and represented corporate, commercial and not-for-profit clients concerning the acquisition, disposition, development, financing and leasing of commercial, industrial and residential real property, including hotels, industrial properties, mixed-use properties, manufactured housing developments, multifamily developments, office buildings and shopping centers. He has also represented clients in the formation and financing of real estate joint ventures on both stabilized assets and development projects.
