News Release

MADISON, WIS. — The prestigious Human Resource Executive Online publication has announced that Quarles & Brady immigration law attorney, Grant Sovern, is included on its much anticipated 2014 “Most Powerful Employment Attorney” list, prepared by Lawdragon, in the category of Up-and-Comers.

Sovern, a partner in the firm’s Madison office and the national chair of Quarles & Brady’s Immigration Team, represents employers and employees in obtaining visas and permanent resident status, and counsels clients on developing, maintaining and defending immigration compliance programs. He also has been an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he teaches immigration law. In the past, Grant has served the U.S. Department of State and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe as an International Elections Supervisor, a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa and a pro bono attorney working with asylum-seekers in the U.S.

“Bringing the right human resources to important jobs through immigration unleashes productivity and creates more jobs for Americans as well,” said Sovern. “It’s an honor to be considered among the best of practitioners in this area of law.”
