Jay Coulby featured in article “Quarles & Brady Lands IP Partner From Kelley Drye”

Following is an excerpt:

Formerly a molecular biologist in the pharmaceutical industry before becoming an attorney, John “Jay” N. Coulby III's practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patents in the life sciences, patent counseling, strategic planning and a variety of litigation matters for clients, Quarles & Brady announced on Nov. 14.

Prior to the move to Quarles, Coulby had spent nearly 18 years at Kelley Drye, the only firm he has worked for after joining directly out of law school. He said the firm was filled with great lawyers and that it was difficult for him to leave.

“I come from the old school, where loyalty is important, and when a firm invests in you, you repay it with loyalty,” he said. “But Quarles presented such a great opportunity that I couldn't pass up.”
