John W. Daniels Jr., Cynthia A. Faur quoted in article “Quarles Launches Clean Energy, Climate Group”

Law360, New York (April 22, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Quarles & Brady LLP has established a multidisciplinary clean energy, climate change and sustainability industry group to provide technical, financial and legal expertise to clients facing clean energy and climate change challenges.

The newly formed group consists of approximately 50 attorneys from the firm’s environmental, real estate, corporate, utility, finance, intellectual property, litigation, tax and immigration practices who will pool their knowledge to help clients navigate complex environmental issues and regulations.

The group will counsel clients on environmental questions that emerge at the intersection of law and business.

Lawyers from the group will advise clients on projects including energy efficiency for buildings and developing renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy, as well as financing for clean energy and infrastructure projects, and carbon regulation and management solutions.

Quarles & Brady launched the group Wednesday, after watching the energy, climate change and sustainability area evolve in recent years into an issue of paramount importance to the firm's clients.

“We decided it was the right time to bring together a variety of people to consolidate our thoughts and provide overall advice to our clients,” Cynthia Faur, a partner at Quarles & Brady and co-chair of the clean energy, climate change and sustainability practice, told Law360.
