Jose A. Carrillo quoted in article “Employers might see new names, IDs from immigrant workers protected by Obama actions”

Phoenix Business Journal

Below is an excerpt:

President Barack Obama's immigration decrees offer businesses greater ability to hire more legalized foreign workers and gives them greater protections against workplace raids as well as state and federal laws aimed at employers who hire illegal workers.

Employers will also see some new names and identification from immigrant workers who may now be working with fake identification.

One of Obama's actions is to allow the spouses of H-1B visa holders to also have employment legal status in the U.S. Current rules give those H-1B spouses H-4 visa status which allow them in the U.S. but restricts their ability to work, said Jose Carrillo, an employment attorney with the Quarles & Brady LLP law firm.
