MILWAUKEE, WIS. — The law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP and its firm chair Kimberly Leach Johnson today announced that partner Katherine Maloney Perhach has been selected as the new Milwaukee office managing partner. Her term begins on January 1, 2015. Katie succeeds Kathryn M. Buono, who is leaving the firm to join Briggs & Stratton Corp. as vice president, secretary and general counsel.
“Katie has been a dynamo for Quarles & Brady,” said firm chair Kimberly Leach Johnson. “Her unique combination of intelligence, empathy, and energy makes her a perfect candidate to succeed Kathie Buono, who has served the firm admirably this year, as office managing partner in Milwaukee.”
Perhach, a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group, handles general and complex lender liability, financial institutions, bankruptcy, eminent domain, and real estate litigation in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. She is also a member of the firm’s Financial Services Industry Team and has been heavily involved in the firm's corporate social responsibility and pro bono legal activities in Milwaukee.

In her new role as Milwaukee office managing partner, Perhach similarly aims to position Quarles & Brady as a Midwestern legal powerhouse and enhance the firm’s national reputation.
“I’m confident I'm leaving Quarles & Brady in the very best of hands,” said Kathie Buono. “I know Katie will hit the ground running and continue to move this office—and the firm—in a positive direction.”
Perhach will be one of three women who serve as office managing partners among the firm’s ten locations across the country, reflecting the firm’s appreciation of leadership excellence among women. As of January 1, 2014, Nicole Stanton was named Phoenix-office managing partner, while Ave Bie has led the Madison office for several years.
"I'm honored to take on this exciting new opportunity," said Perhach. "I look forward to working closely with my peers to continue the tradition of excellence that has been the hallmark of Quarles & Brady for as long as anyone can remember, as well as help the firm find new, dynamic ways to grow and succeed as a visible and vibrant member of the greater Milwaukee community in the months and years to come."
