Quarles & Brady Welcomes Two New Real Estate Partners to its Chicago Office01/23/13
CHICAGO, ILL. - The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced the addition of Robert F. Messerly and Derek T. Neathery to the firm's Chicago office who will be bringing their national real estate practice to the firm. Both partners were previously with SNR Denton US LLP.

About the Attorneys:
Robert Messerly joins as a partner with broad experience in real estate. He concentrates in the areas of large portfolio acquisition and disposition, equity investments, and real estate finance, having represented some of the country's preeminent institutional real estate investors and lenders. Messerly's clients invest in all types of commercial property and his experience mirrors that breadth. He has worked on acquisitions and dispositions in virtually every state in the country, including transactions involving commercial office buildings, industrial buildings, apartment complexes, hotels and mixed-use buildings ranging in size and complexity. In addition to his experience in equity transactions, Messerly also has experience with various financing transactions. He has not only worked on traditional real estate loans, but also has experience working on mezzanine loans, loan restructurings, and foreclosures. He received his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in political science from Xavier University.
Derek Neathery also joins the firm as a partner in the real estate group. Neathery represents clients in dispositions and acquisitions involving office, retail, industrial, hotel and multi-family assets across the country. His experience in this area includes the development and sale of mixed-use projects, in which he has drafted master declarations, easement agreements and development agreements. He also regularly represents landlords and tenants in a variety of different leasing transactions. Neathery earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his undergraduate degree, with University Honors, from the University of Michigan.
