Quarles & Brady’s Funkhouser Named President of MCBA for 201312/12/12
PHOENIX, ARIZ. - The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that David E. Funkhouser III, a partner in the firm's Phoenix office, will serve as president of the Maricopa County Bar Association ("MCBA") for 2013. He previously served as president-elect in 2012, as treasurer in 2011, as secretary in 2010 and was a member of the MCBA Board of Directors from 2007-2009. He will begin his term as president on January 1. Fellow Quarles & Brady attorney, Lyzzette M. Bullock will retain her seat as a member of the board of directors through 2014.
Funkhouser handles complex commercial litigation matters. His litigation practice has an emphasis in real property disputes, construction disputes, consumer lending, contract disputes and other commercial torts. Funkhouser also routinely represents financial institutions in all aspects of litigation.
He is also heavily involved in the local community including, serving as a certified ambassador for the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, as a board member of the Arizona Advocacy Network and the AzAN Foundation, a member of the Leadership Council for the Special Olympics Advocacy Resource program, and as a volunteer pro-bono lawyer for the State Bar of Arizona Young Lawyers Division Wills for Heroes Program. He also served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2008-2009. Funkhouser earned both his law degree and undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa.
