Professional Experience
Nicholas P. Schmidbauer is a member of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. Mr. Schmidbauer’s practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the mechanical, electro-mechanical, business method and design arts in the U.S. and abroad and counseling clients in matters related to patentability, patent validity, patent infringement and patent licensing. Mr. Schmidbauer also has experience in the assertion and defense of intellectual property rights in the fields of patents and trademarks.
Mr. Schmidbauer has drafted and prosecuted patent applications on: mechanical and electronic fluid dispensing systems; aerosol and non-aerosol containers; packaging; various insect control technologies; surgical navigation instruments; zippered bags; electronic ordering systems; fasteners for use in the construction industry; various operational methodologies for electronic devices; aircraft technology; automotive technology, sporting equipment; various active and passive fragrancing technologies; and the designs of numerous consumer products.
