Rena J. Upshaw-Frazier, Partner


Rena Upshaw-Frazier is a trial attorney in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group who handles complex business disputes. Her practice primarily focuses on matters involving real property, including commercial and residential leasing, contract issues, matters pertaining to acquisition, disposition, and development, easements and land boundaries, lien foreclosures, brokerage and commission disputes, and title issues, among other real estate-related matters. Ms. Upshaw-Frazier also handles a range of commercial litigation matters pertaining to business torts and contract disputes, financial services, and collection matters. She represents financial institutions, developers, investors, landlords, tenants, homeowner associations, and property owners. Ms. Upshaw-Frazier has extensive litigation and trial experience and is involved in all phases of dispute resolution, from pre-litigation negotiation, to mediations, through jury and bench trials.

Ms. Upshaw-Frazier's recent experience includes:

  • Obtaining a multimillion-dollar judgment after a week-long jury trial pertaining to a commercial eviction and breach of lease matter.
  • Securing money judgments for over $17 million and $4 million after a bench trial pertaining to breaches of guaranties.
