Professional Experience
Roy L. Prange, Jr., a partner in the Madison office, concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and business litigation involving contract and other disputes frequently involving lending relationships. His practice includes extensive work-out experience and lender liability defense. He also has extensive experience in the creditors rights’ / bankruptcy area. Mr. Prange’s recent experience includes:
- Substantial jury trial lender liability defense experience.
- Representation of lenders in loan workouts and implementing strategies to enable continued operation of financially troubled businesses.
- Obtained Wisconsin Supreme Court decision protecting rights of lenders against guarantors in foreclosure proceedings. See: Bank Mutual v Boyer, 2010 WI 74; 785 N.W.2d 462.
- Jury trial representation of purchaser of defective waterproofing system.
- Representing preference defendants in various large retail bankruptcies.
- Obtained Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals decision regarding choice of law rules application in bankruptcy proceedings. See: In re Jafari, 569 F.3d 644 (7th Cir. 2009).
- Representation of a significant stakeholder in the Kmart and U.S. Airways bankruptcies.
