Professional Experience
Sandra Smith joined Quarles and Brady, LLP as a paralegal in their Labor and Employment Group in April 2004. Previously employed by Snell & Wilmer, L.L.P. in Phoenix, Arizona as a paralegal in their Commercial and Labor and Employment Groups, from April 1988 thru April 2004.
Experience includes the following:
- Extensive background in assisting at trials: compile and prepare trial exhibits for marking with Court; assemble witness files in preparation for direct- and cross-examinations; meet with clients to prepare for testimony; create demonstrative exhibits, including timelines and PowerPoint slides; create video clips from witnesses' videotaped depositions, to use during impeachment or absence of witness from trial; attend trial and run computer transmitting exhibits and clips to jurors on projection screen.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather information and documents relating to case.
- Review client's and opposition's documents for information to create chronology of relevant events.
- Prepare documents for production to opposition and responses to discovery requests.
- Prepare interrogatories and requests for production.
- Compile documents for use in preparing witnesses for their depositions.
- Prepare reports relating to fact gathering and background research.
- Work with several computer databases including Word, WordPerfect, PowerPoint, Summation, Concordance, Isys, Trial and Deposition Director, Excel.
