Legal Representation without Borders
Quarles & Brady adeptly navigated numerous challenges in an international child abduction case, which the firm had taken on pro bono. The team filed repeated visa applications so that our client, a Mexican-national father, could come into the United States and ask the court to return his son, who had been taken from him in 2003 by the birth mother. Once his application was approved and a hearing date obtained, the mother fled with the son. They were located after years of working with the U.S. State Department, the Arizona Clearinghouse, and a Spanish-speaking private investigation firm. A second visa was obtained for the client and at the hearing, the judge ruled in our client's favor.
