Quarles & Brady's Williams Receives National Honors

PHOENIX, ARIZ. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady is pleased to announce that noted trial lawyer Lonnie J. Williams, Jr., a partner at the Firm, has been selected in two different listings as one of the nation’s best trial attorneys.

Clients and peers have selected Mr. Williams as being among the Top 100 of “The Nation’s Most Powerful Employment Attorneys.” Lawdragon reported this selection in the June 2010 issue of Human Resource Executive. Mr. Williams was selected on the basis of curriculum-vitae analyses, evaluations by clients and peers, and reporting by the Lawdragon staff.

In a separate report, Mr. Williams also was named one of the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America. The Lawdragon 500 is compiled based on a combination of written submissions, nominations and comments received through an online ballot, and editorial research by Lawdragon staff. The list represents 0.04 percent of all lawyers in the U.S.

“I’m honored to be named one of the 500 Leading Lawyers in America,” says Mr. Williams. “I have always worked hard to give my clients top-quality legal services, both before and during a legal dispute. To have that work acknowledged by my peers is gratifying.”

Mr. Williams, a partner in the Phoenix office of the national law firm of Quarles & Brady, is a trial lawyer representing a variety of clients in employment and other commercial matters. He has been inducted as a fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America. Fellowship is extended by invitation only to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. He is a graduate of Yale Law School.  Mr. Williams also has served as President of the American Bar Association’s National Conference of Bar Presidents and of the Maricopa County Bar Association. Outside of the courtroom, he co-hosts a local cooking show, “Focus on Ethnic Cooking,” which helps single men learn the art of healthy cooking.

Being honored as one of the nation’s most powerful employment attorneys and being named to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America are just two of the latest in a long line of honors for Mr. Williams.  Earlier this month, Mr. Williams was again listed in the 2010 edition of
Chambers USA®: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. This is the seventh consecutive year that Mr. Williams has been recognized for excellence in the legal industry by Chambers and Partners.  For the past fifteen years, Mr. Williams also has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for both Commercial Litigation and Labor and Employment Law, and he has been selected for inclusion in Southwest Super Lawyers® for the same two practice areas, each year since its first publication in 2007.
