The Products Liability Group of Quarles & Brady maintains an active practice in the defense of toxic tort claims. Whenever claims of personal injury or property damage are associated with environmental contamination, the environmental attorneys of Quarles & Brady work together with our products liability litigators to assess the underlying claims and minimize liability while participating extensively in the defense and trial of these matters. This includes extensive and detailed work with technical reports, including fate and transport modeling and other issues critical to a determination of causation. In addition, we have extensive experience preparing environmental experts, taking and defending expert depositions, contributing to critical pre-trial motions and the defense of these claims at trial.

• Representing a chemical manufacturer regarding alleged impacts to groundwater associated with perchloroethylene contamination in Kansas.
  
  
• Representing a chemical manufacturer regarding allegations of groundwater contamination associated with the release of perchloroethylene from drycleaners in the Central Valley of California.
  
  
• Representing a manufacturer regarding groundwater contamination associated with trichloroethylene and cis-1,2-dichloroethene of private drinking water wells, resulting in an alleged cluster of brain cancer cases in Illinois.
