Anuj Patel, Associate

Anuj Patel focuses his practice on advising clients on regulatory and compliance issues, fraud and abuse, litigation matters, and professional licensing matters.

Before joining Quarles & Brady LLP, he served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. In this position, he prosecuted licensing cases before the Maryland health occupations licensing boards involving allegations of fraud, standard of care violations, and unprofessional conduct. He previously served as Deputy County Attorney with the Office of the County Attorney for St. Mary’s County and an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Office of the State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County. In these roles, he negotiated and litigated numerous civil and criminal cases before District Courts and Circuit Courts in Maryland.

Anuj is a licensed pharmacist and a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS). He has a deep knowledge of the healthcare industry gained through nearly nine years as a practicing clinical pharmacist. His hospital experience includes clinical decision making, sterile compounding, medication reconciliation, patient counseling, and advising providers in selecting medication therapy. He has both the substantive knowledge of regulatory schemes and the practical experience in working within healthcare systems to comply with those regulations. Anuj leverages this dual knowledge to understand the substance of clients’ issues and to craft practical, business-oriented solutions.
