Quarles & Brady Attorney Emily Fons Named a Top 100 Legal Influencer in Nation by the Business Journals

MILWAUKEE — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Emily Fons, an attorney in the firm’s Milwaukee office, has been recognized as a top legal influencer in the nation as she is named to The Business Journals’ “Influencers: Law” list.

The Business Journals’ “Influencers: Law” list selects attorneys who are generating success for their companies, and for their clients. The chosen Influencers were identified by editors and staff writers across The Business Journals’ national network of over 40 publications.

Fons is an attorney in the firm’s Business Law Practice Group. She maintains a comprehensive transactional practice, assisting clients in mergers and acquisitions, antitrust law and general corporate law. In the area of antitrust law, Fons routinely assists clients with respect to joint venture and merger-related antitrust matters, including preparing and filing the Premerger Notification and Report Form for Certain Mergers and Acquisitions required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.

Fons is actively involved in Quarles & Brady’s pro bono efforts. In partnership with the Milwaukee Justice Center and Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic, she created a legal aid clinic at Sojourner Family Peace Center. In addition, Fons coordinated the firm’s “Lawyer for a Day” program, in which Quarles & Brady attorneys represent victims of domestic violence seeking restraining orders. She also has been recognized as a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society, a Quarles & Brady Michael Gonring Pro Bono Award recipient and a Milwaukee Business Journal 40 Under 40 Awards recipient. She received her bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and her law degree from the University of California-Hastings College of Law.
