Experienced attorneys with knowledge of all asset and transaction types

Our Real Estate Practice Group is proud of the breadth of its representative experience. We have helped clients buy and sell high-rise office towers and suburban office parks, multifamily housing, strip shopping centers and regional malls, recreational facilities, assisted living and nursing care facilities, industrial buildings and complexes, hotels and resort facilities, timber and farmland. We work with corporate real estate owners, real estate investors, note purchasers and developers on issues including tax, governance, entity formation and related areas affecting real estate partnerships and joint ventures. We understand purchaser and seller agendas, and how to draft and negotiate balanced transaction documents while protecting the interests of our clients.

Successes

  • Represented an institutional investor in a 10-property sale-leaseback transaction involving a national food manufacturer. This transaction involved several complicating factors due to the regulated nature of the property use. Our team led all negotiation, drafting, property diligence and financing negotiation.
  • Represented an institutional investor in connection with the acquisition of a portfolio of high-end, private pay senior housing assets in multiple states. We negotiated the purchase and sale agreements, management agreements and all related closing documents for the acquisition, in addition to the loan documents for the portfolio loan obtained to finance the transaction.
  • Represented an institutional investor in connection with the sale of an 11-property portfolio of industrial and office buildings, encompassing 1.4 million square feet of space, in Lake County, Ill.
  • Assisted client with the sale of one of the largest and oldest copper mines in Arizona history, in a complicated transaction involving existing leaseback, equipment lien and other related issues, along with environmental issues stemming back to the 1800s.
