Chris A. Watt


Chris Watt focuses his practice on patent prosecution, including drafting and securing patents. Prior to joining the firm, Chris worked as senior patent counsel for GoDaddy.

As a patent prosecution attorney, Chris is responsible for drafting and securing patents for innovators. He also has a background in open source software, where he has worked with corporate CTOs, compliance attorneys, and project managers to review and approve open source software license requests. Chris is licensed to practice law in Arizona, Utah, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he worked as a patent examiner for almost two years.

Chris' technical background includes over a decade of programming experience, including both desktop and online software development in several technology companies. Chris developed an interest in patent law while working with outside law firms to secure patent protection for Equity Now America, a financial software company where he acted as executive vice president of business development and developed over 85 percent of the software for the company's core product.
