Program Overview:
December 11 marked the 10th anniversary of the Madoff Ponzi scheme being revealed to the world via the arrest of the since-disgraced financier, Bernie Madoff. This program will revisit this major stock and securities scandal that rocked the investment world and its effect on today's bankruptcies and receiverships, lessons learned, and how to avoid similar schemes in the future.
Presenters will discuss this scandal and highlight continuing risks to financial institutions from similar schemes and how to avoid such schemes in the future. The program will include discussions of preventing and defending against the types of claims often brought against financial institutions related to Ponzi schemes and other fraudulent situations.
