Labor and Employment
The Labor & Employment Law Group has represented universities for many years, advising management on all aspects of labor, from personnel matters and policies to union negotiations or faculty termination, and always with an understanding of the unique academic environment and need to handle matters as expeditiously and sensitively as possible. We also provide advice on all types of employee benefit plans and the legal issues under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code.

Our Health Law Team includes attorneys with substantial FDA and clinical trial experience. We have provided guidance on a wide array of health care regulatory and research compliance matters to health care systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, physician groups, device manufacturers, and pharmaceutical and nutritional supplement companies. Our attorneys have assisted clients with matters pertaining to the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act including, advising on advertising and promotion, disease awareness and scientific exchange matters, the Sunshine Act, and Anti-Kickback Statute and counseled clients on all aspects of clinical trials including research compliance with FDA (Phases I- IV) and HHS regulations, IRB requirements, clinical trial and service related contracting, collaborations, investigator initiated studies, safety data exchange agreements, clinical trial data sharing, inspection responses to 483s, informed consents and authorizations, financial disclosure requirements/conflict of interests, subject compensation, agency notifications, site audits and inspections and FDA required registrations. Our experience includes managing clinical trial compliance and contract negotiations globally.
