Through the years, John has served on more than his share of boards. Currently, he serves on several that reflect his leadership and focus on education, financial services, health care, and real estate.
The Greater Milwaukee Committee is a private sector civic organization of major corporate leaders whose mission is to contribute to the cultural and economic base of the Milwaukee Metropolitan area. The organization was formed in the late 1940s and is composed of leaders in business, the professions, labor, education and philanthropy, and nonprofit community development. John serves as chairman of the board.
The Greater Milwaukee Foundation seeks to inspire philanthropy, serve donors, and to strengthen communities, now and for future generations. The organization manages wealth for philanthropists who are dedicated to the future of Southeastern Wisconsin. John sits on the board and is its former chairman. He is especially excited about the GMC’s “Milwaukee Succeeds“ initiative, which brings together leaders who have all invested heavily in educational improvement but have rarely worked collaboratively. In order to generate this framework, leaders adopt a rigorous measurement process, identify high impact strategies, develop communitywide goals, engage community stakeholders, and continue to invest in programs that work. John is the former chairman of the board.
Aurora Health Care, a 5 billion dollar plus integrated, not-for-profit, and all-for-people health care provider, is the largest in Wisconsin, serving communities throughout eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. John is chairman of the board.
