Joseph Markell is a patent engineer in the firm's Intellectual Property Group. Joseph focuses his practice as a patent engineer on all aspects of prosecuting mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electrical patent applications and preparing opinions regarding patentability, infringement, and invalidity.
Joseph's technical experience includes working as a Process Development Engineer at Cree, Inc. (2005-2007) in the area of light emitting diode fabrication. Joseph worked on projects including: photolithography, scanning acoustical microscopy (SAM), metal deposition, rapid thermal annealing (RTA), etching, wafer bonding, and wafer grinding. Joseph also worked as a Senior Process/Quality Engineer at Motorola, Inc. (2007-2012) in the area of government and public safety radio manufacturing. Joseph is a Motorola certified Six-Sigma Greenbelt (2010) and trained Six-Sigma Blackbelt (2011).
