Joshua D. Covey, Associate

Biography

Josh Covey is a business-minded attorney specializing in technology transactions and data privacy. He is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group and Data Privacy & Security Team. Prior to joining Quarles & Brady, Josh was a district manager and licensed investment representative for several years at a large financial institution.

Josh's practice focuses primarily on:

  • Drafting and negotiating licensing and services agreements (e.g., software, SaaS and other as-a-service technologies, IoT and connected devices, hardware, mobile apps, EULAs, clickwraps, professional services, SLAs, development, procurement, and distribution);
  • Counseling clients on data privacy and security, e-commerce, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, privacy policies and procedures, terms of use/service/sale, data breaches, open source software, and NDAs); and
  • IP-focused due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other transactions.
